Special curtains keep wood dry in Nynäshamn

Simple solutions are good solutions. This is something they are aware of at Nynäs Bygg & Fritidsmarknad (which will change its name in May to XL Bygg Nynäshamn). This where both building professionals and hobbyists find the building material, hardware, paint, garden tools etc. that they need. There is also a wide range of different grades of timber, and the knowledgeable staff help customers with everything from tips and advice to cutting and sawing.

But wood needs a lot of space. They have built a 12 metre unheated warehouse outdoors, to house the buffer store. They often drive in and out with fork-lifts to collect timber, so an easily-used door was needed. Ordinary doors could not be used because of the pitched roof, so they chose to install special curtains from Hallbyggarna-Jonsereds instead.

"We have to protect the timber from rain and damp," explains Per-Åke Palmqvist, the manager at Nynäs Bygg & Fritidsmarknad. "We first thought about just covering the opening over by fixing some tarpaulins, but that would not have been a practical solution for the fork-lifts. So we installed rails instead, and put up some special curtiains. This was a perfect solution for the problem. The sliding curtains are easy to work with, and take up almost no space at all."

Special curtains are a classic Hallbyggarna-Jonsereds product, which they have now brought back into the product range. Where a door can not be used, curtains are an easy and economical way to protect your space from rain, snow, draughts, dust and noise.
